QHSE Achievements during 2007:

1. Lunching and awarding ISO Systems certificates for TS & M and projects departments:

TS&M and projects Depts. Awarded OHSAS 18001:1999, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certificates after fulfilling the external audit which conducted during December 07 by BVQI.

By this step EMC achieved OHSAS 18001:1999, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 certificates for all its operational departments


2. Quality Projects:

EMC adopted the Six sigma technique in its process bottlenecks in order to establish continual improvement methodology at the company management system. The following quality projects/studies were accomplished during 2007:

A. Purchasing / Direct Order Process
The study focused on the reasons selected to issue a direct order which is one of purchasing processes and the relative weight of using it per each dept.
   
B. Project Budget Survey
The project handled the endorsement cycle of the project budgets to accelerate the process and eliminate the practiced obstacles. After applying the solution proposed, the result was very much satisfactory

C. Employees Turn Over Study
This study evaluated the reasons behind the turn over ratio recorded during the last 18 month. The study also came out with recommendations to maintain the competent employees the company have.


3. HSE Campaign:

As part of EMC care towards its employees after working hours, a safety campaign announced as "off the job safety " conducted during the period from 4/6/07 till 11/7/07.

Campaign posters, Booklets, CDs were prepared, issued and displayed in all the Company sites

The Company provided Campaign attendees with special offer as the Company chairman approved company share of 50% in campaign package (Portable fire extinguisher 2 Kg & Smoke detector) costs.

4. Improving the Company Transportation system and drivers:
That includes:

A. Applying Company Fleet Management Technology:

Where the fleet manager records driving data, speed limit, vehicle parameters and user defined events. Where the driver behavior is totally recorded.

The data recorded then downloaded over specific soft ware where analysis occurs.
B.     EMC Drivers & Employees Medical Check:

The Company drivers and EMC employees who drive EMC vehicles have been subjected to medical check to ensure that they are physically fit. This includes different analysis in addition to drugs and alcohols. Worth to mention that un-planned drug test is also applied.
The total number registered during 2007, 158 employees.


C. Training Sessions on Safe Transportation & Safe Driving:

Comprehensive training seminar has been conducted to EMC Drivers & employees who drive EMC Vehicles

 

Major H.S.E Activities

The total worked man hours were 6967734 from January till End of October 2006.

One L.T.I and One fire accident were reported from the beginning of the year.

The total NO of near miss occurrences reported were 11228 .

The total number of the HSE training sessions were 1991 sessions.

The total number of the Formal Safety Meetings were 2223 meetings.

 

Environment

We exert our utmost effort to understand the local environment and the needs and concerns of the local community. Consequently, we try to minimize the impact of our operations on the local environment. It's all part of the way we work.

 

Safety

We are committed to meet mandatory/ government regulations and industry codes of practice for safety and environmental management. The goal is to prevent accidental risks throughout our operations.

 

Health

We demand a fully integrated approach a health management to all staff on site, including the client's personnel. In every country where we are operating, we take care of all personnel to ensure successful delivery of each project.
